A family history Among the Rétys, cider, just like pancakes on Saturday lunch, is a story that is passed down. This is why in 2019, Alain decided to make a professional retraining and to embark on the production of cider, apple juice and vinegar. And of course in ORGANIC! Rehabilitation The transformation into a cellar of a family building, built in 1905, was a key stage in the project. Alain is also keen to maintain his orchards, made up of old local varieties planted between 1960 and 1980. He wants to find old varieties from the Breton region and plant them close to the cider house. All the apples are harvested within a radius of 30 km around the cider house, to ensure a sufficient production of apples every year. This also helps to limit the carbon impact! A great team Being in good company is essential: family, friends and professionals support the project. Alain Réty notably approached Mathieu Harvard, oenologist at the Brittany Chamber of Agriculture, who shared with him his knowledge of manufacturing techniques and apple varieties. The goal is to create better blends for quality cider, apple juice and vinegar. Outside opening times, possibility to make an appointment on 07 81 65 90 38
