Located on the edge of the Scorff Valley, Berné in the Morbihan is a parish which dates back to the 10th and 11th century. We mainly remember from its history the events linked to the Pont Calleck Conspiracy. This one, then owner of the castle of the same name, tried to rise against the royal power in order to obtain the restoration of the privileges of Brittany. This uprising ended in failure at the end of which the Marquis and three of his companions were executed. The Château de Pont Calleck in Berné now houses a religious congregation. Its park is open to the public. The history of Berné is, however, much earlier than that of the famous Marquis. Witness the remains of the medieval village in the heart of the Pont-Calleck forest.
