What to see in Langoëlan

Surprising houses in the village

The Maison Le Corre

Built around 1930, this middle-class house is reminiscent of the seaside villas of the time when you look at the balustrade on the 1st floor. But if you look at its sloping roofs and large chimneys, it looks more like a manor house!

The Château de l'Émir

This house is bound to catch your eye. With its minaret, you won't want to miss it! But who is the Emir in question? In fact, Albert Haïk was not an emir, but a Parisian public works contractor born in Tunis. He had this house built between 1920 and 1930 for his wife, who was originally from Langoëlan. Be careful not to confuse him with his brother Jacques, a famous producer who owned studios and cinemas in Paris.

The Etang du Dordu

Langoëlan also owes part of its charm to the Etang du Dordu. It features an interpretation trail. Its leprechauns help you discover the flora and fauna of the aquatic environment. It's the perfect place for a family outing. It's also a popular spot for fishing enthusiasts. If you like to tease carp and pike, you've come to the right place!

Beautiful walks

Langoëlan's footpaths will lead you to discover its remarkable heritage and unspoilt countryside.

  • The Meunier trail (8.5 km) takes you along the banks of the river Scorff and takes in some old mills. In the village of Quénépévan, behind the Chapelle de la Trinité, you'll find a sunken path known as one of the deepest in Brittany.
  • The Paradis trail (6.1 km) is relatively short, passing close to the Saint-Salomon fountain and the Moulin du Paradis, before finishing around the Etang du Dordu.
  • The Coëtcodu circuit (11 km) offers a host of surprises: the Saint-Servais chapel, the Quélen mill, a medieval motte feudale, a cupule stone, etc.
