What to do in Lignol

Visit the chapel of Saint-Yves

This is the largest chapel in Lignol. According to the story, Saint Yves was returning from Bubry, a neighbouring village, when he saw a religious house in flames. With a simple sign of the cross in the direction of the building, he managed to extinguish the fire. To pay tribute to him, a chapel was built on the site of this prodigy!

Today, Saint-Yves chapel can be visited for its pretty bell tower, inspired by that of Notre-Dame de Kernascéden church, and its sandpits.

Hiking on the Marie Chon trail

In the mood for a hike? Then the Marie Chon trail is for you! Set off on a 13 km wooded walk past the ruins of the house of the famous Mari Chon. But who was she?

This widow, deprived of her children, chose to settle in the forest to avoid the inhabitants of Lignol because she was uncomfortable in society. She lived there between 1912 and 1954. This desire to live apart, her appearance, her petty thefts and her status as a water vendor at pardons earned her a reputation as a "witch"!
