its walks,

If you're looking for a sporting activity, you may not want to go far enough round the lake. But don't panic! Plouray also has a number of walking trails.

  • Le circuit des Vieilles Pierres: over a distance of 11.5 km, you can see the remains of the chapel of Saint-Maudé and the church of Saint-Yves, pass through small villages and discover the Plouray countryside.
  • The Chênes trail: 11 km long, it takes you from the village of Rosterc'h to the chapel of Saint-Guénin before passing by the church of Saint-Yves. In Rosterc'h, don't miss the two centuries-old oak trees classified as "remarkable trees of Morbihan"!

These two routes share a common section. You can combine them to make a longer loop.

and... its Buddhist Centre!

What a change of scenery when you arrive at the Drukpa Buddhist Centre in Bel Avenir! Don't be fooled by the architecture, worthy of the monuments of Tibet, you're in the land of the Morvan king.

The prayer wheel, the colourful decorations on the stupa and all the statues in the temple are reminiscent of Central Brittany. Founded in 1985, this place is unique in Brittany. Its location in a vast park is conducive to peace and quiet. Of course, the site lends itself to meditation, but you can simply take a stroll in a very Zen atmosphere.

You are unlikely to be the most illustrious visitor to walk the aisles of the centre.

In 2004, the Dalai Lama himself graced the Buddhist Centre with his presence! He gave a lecture in front of more than 5,000 people.
