  • The Lac du Bel Air trail: a little shorter, just 7 km, but guess where it takes you? With a name like that... the Lac du Bel Air, of course! But that's not all... You'll cross an area of moorland to reach the village of Bonnével, the highest point in the commune.

A rich architectural heritage

The Saint-Nicolas chapel

The chapel was built in the 12th century. The Gothic-style Saint-Nicolas chapel, isolated in the countryside, contains a veritable treasure trove of woodwork: a superb polychrome wooden rood screen. It depicts the 12 apostles on one side and the life of the local patron saint on the other. There are only 13 unconverted rood screens left in Brittany. Don't miss this opportunity! If you like the rood screen in this chapel, you'll also like the one in the chapel of Saint-Fiacre in Le Faouët.

In the Saint-Nicolas chapel, you'll also see a chime wheel, a musical instrument used in various religious rituals.

The church of Saint-Béheau

In the Pays du Roi Morvan, you can discover a large number of churches and chapels in the flamboyant Gothic style. But if you're more interested in the sobriety ofRomanesque art, there are three churches you should visit: Saint-Pierre church in Ploërdut, Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul church in Langonnet and Saint-Béheau church in Priziac.

While the exterior of the church in Priziac is no longer reminiscent of Romanesque architecture, the pillars of the crossing leave no room for doubt. The sculpted bases are still visible, but the most striking feature is the decoration on the capitals, typical of the period: interlacing, geometric figures, figurative representations, etc.

The law courts

Near the church of Saint-Béheau, there's a house that doesn't go unnoticed: the Maison Montlouis. This building, dating from the late 16th century, is thought to be one of the last law courts in France. Here, the lords kept registers, collected rents from farms and, of course, dispensed justice.

In 2023, major work was carried out to save the building and restore its original appearance.

Although it is unfortunately not open to the public on a regular basis, you can sometimes visit thecourthouse on guided tours. Keep an eye on the tourist officecalendar!
