Small-scale heritage
Reflecting a way of life of yesteryear
Small-scale heritage dotted the villages and roads. It is a first-rate testimony to the ways of life of the past associated with these places: practices, know-how, customs and beliefs.
The protection and enhancement of this small heritage remains the responsibility of the municipalities, many of which have chosen to restore and care for it.
In terms of promotion, events, exhibitions and complete or partial inventories have been carried out on various elements of small-scale heritage by the department and associations.
The Journées du patrimoines de pays et des moulins (local heritage and mills days) in June remain the most high-profile event for highlighting this small, discreet, fragile and little-protected heritage.
