Discover Guémené-sur-Scorff in a fun and affordable way!
For the first day of what promises to be an exciting weekend, head to Guémené-sur-Scorff. Yes, that's where theGuémené andouille is made, but there's more to it than that!
Visit Les Bains de la Reine
This is a really unexpected free visit! It's a small museum housing a steam room, or sauna, dating from the 14th century. So we were already clean back then? By discovering the secrets of medieval beauty and the 15-minute film that tells the story ofhygiene in the Middle Ages, you'll see that there are a lot of preconceived ideas and that our ancestors weren't as filthy as we like to think!

The entrance to the Bains de la Reine is via the tourist office. Perfect! Now you can prepare for the activity that will keep you busy all afternoon: The Abgrall Mystery. At the reception desk, you can borrow theinvestigator 's kit free of charge (there's only a deposit to leave) so you can wander around Guémené having fun. But perhaps you've already downloaded theriddle book at home?
Before setting off to investigate, you can have a picnic at the foot of the Grand Rempart or in the public garden. If you prefer, you can have lunch in a fast-food restaurant.
Solve the Abgrall Mystery
With this puzzle game, you can take part in a life-size investigation as you wander through the historic heart of Guémené-sur-Scorff, a Petite Cité de Caractère®. It's amazing, because you're really taking part in your visit.
Here's what awaits you: Erwann Abgrall, a wealthy eccentric from Brittany, has disappeared, leaving behind an immense fortune of mysterious origin. Maître Braouzec, a notary in Rennes, has been instructed to settle the estate of the deceased. But it's going to be a tricky business: Erwann Abgrall left neither a will nor an heir...
Your mission is to help Maître Braouzec reconstruct the general structure of the Abgrall family. 1, 2, 3, go!

Sleep for next to nothing at the Priziac campsite
After a busy day, head to Le Lac Ô Fées campsite, on the banks of Lac du Bel Air in Priziac.
Here you can pitch your tent, or put up your van or camper van for the night. It's a great value for money, and you can look forward to a pleasant evening in the campsite's picnic area!
You can use the barbecue near the lake's play area, have a drink and, above all, don't miss the sunset. It's magnificent on the water and the spectacle costs nothing!
And now, off to bed! Make the most of the peace and quiet. There's still plenty to do tomorrow. For a start, if you get up early enough, you can admire... the sunrise!

A free walk in the fresh air near Berné
For this second day, we're putting aside the charm of the old stones for a taste of the natural surroundings.
The Sacré-Coeur walk in Berné
First, prepare your picnic. Then it's off for a 10km walk starting from the village of Berné. During the walk, you'll see an old bread oven, wash-houses, wells and the Sacré-Coeur chapel. What an amazing chapel! It's an architectural reduction of the Sacré-Coeur basilica in Montmartre. It's like a little Parisian getaway without taking the TGV!
To follow this route, you can buy walking map no. 40 from one of the tourist information offices of the Pays du Roi Morvan Tourist Office, or download it from the website.
Don't forget to take a picnic break to recharge your batteries. You're going to need your energy, the day's not over yet.

Discover the medieval hamlet in the forest of Pont-Calleck
After the hike, we suggest a short foray into the Pont-Calleck state forest to discover the remains of a medieval hamlet. In the Middle Ages, the lordship of Pontkalleg had large tracts of land on which to settle its vassals. One of these medieval hamlets, built in the 13th century on the site of a Gallo-Roman settlement dating from the 2nd century, has been partly restored and developed. There are panels to help you understand the history of the place.

Push open the doors of Notre-Dame church in Kernascléden
To round off this weekend, it would be a real shame to miss out on the incredible church at Kernascléden when it's so close by. The river is neither very wide nor very deep, but the Scorff Valley is particularly pretty here.
Once you arrive in Kernascléden, you won't want to miss the church of Notre-Dame. It stands in the centre of the village, right next to the Maison de la Chauve-Souris.
Externally, it has all the hallmarks of flamboyant Gothic architecture: gargoyles, pinnacles and balusters... It lives up to its nickname of the church with "1000 bells".
But the most exceptional features are hidden inside: fabulous murals, a representation ofhell and a danse macabre! Did you know that there are only two dances of death left in Brittany?
So, wasn't this weekend designed especially for those on a tight budget? If your wallet isn't completely flat, don't hesitate to treat yourself in a restaurant. There are plenty of good places to eat in the Pays du Roi Morvan.
A word of advice: don't forget to come back. There are still plenty of sights waiting for you. You're far from having seen everything!
