Le Pays du roi Morvan for you
A unit of green, forests, a forest heart where life flows, rivers. It's a quality of life
A mountain girl, but not from the Black Mountains
Claire grew up in the Tarentaise mountains in the Alps. They are a little higher than the Montagnes Noires at Gourin... " Brittany is my heartland. I went there on holiday until I was 17. My parents had bought a house near Lannion. In fact, that's where I discovered salted butter. It's a childhood memory. It was unknown in Savoie, where I come from.
And what did she do in Savoie? " Snowboarding. I was a champion when I was a teenager. I was set to take part in the Olympics but injuries meant I had to stop."
At the same time, another change was taking place in Claire's life. A change that would influence her whole life.

I became aware of climate change in the mountains and it revolted me. I wanted to preserve the environment and nature. It's a revenge on life!

A passion for Brittany, nature, ecology and...honey
So how do you get from the Alps to Brittany ? You don't get to the Land of the King of Morvan by skiing down the slopes! No, of course not.
During her studies, Claire was on the move a lot. She met lots of people and, strangely enough, regularly crossed paths with people from Central Brittany.
It was like a sign. I felt there was something to be done there.
So it was in Ploërdut, near Guémené-sur-Scorff, that she created an incredible place: La Fontaine Airmeth .

For years, Claire had wanted to run a farm inn and have animals. "I was thinking cows. But during a course in green tourism, she met Thomas, whom she has since married. He was already a beekeeper, "so in the end, the cows became bees". Oh dear! But that's completely different! Well, another sign, perhaps?
My father used to be a hobby beekeeper, so I've known about beekeeping since I was 10.
It was with great enthusiasm that these two ecology enthusiasts began producing organic honey. They sell through short distribution channels to remain true to their convictions. They love their work and the countryside they live in so much that they wanted to share it with everyone. At La Fontaine Airmeth, they were already welcoming visitors to explain the world of bees to them. From now on, it will be possible to spend the night there, but not just anywhere!

Unusual accommodation in Ploërdut in Central Brittany for an unforgettable experience
Sleeping in Claire and Thomas's Tiny House is an exceptional experience! In this little eco-friendly house, they have installed a real, secure glass beehive. "We discover the life of a swarm of bees and the benefits of their buzzing."
Claire provides simple, straightforward information about the world of bees and her work as a beekeeper. She knows the best local producers and the most beautiful hiking trails, such as the chaos of the Ellé valley in Le Faouët.
For Claire, who is delighted to live in contact with nature every day, the greatest satisfaction comes from "getting people who are afraid of bees to love them". There's no doubt about it, happiness is in the hive!
